"All work and no play" is unthinkable even for those pursuing technical course requiring long working hours in college and at home. In spite of the hectic schedule, the students are quite conscious of the importance of co-curricular and extra curricular activities participating in sports and games etc.

Games and sports

Games and sports haven't got many substitutes when it comes to the full development of ones personality and inculcating team spirits camaraderie and discipline. The faculty and administration is also conscious of its importance and encourages the students to actively participate in them.

The Institute has excellent facilities for the students to develop their skills in a wide variety of games and sports. The main field covers an area of approximately 15000 sq. mts. Facilities are also available for participating in indoor games. GCTI has organised various district level and state level tournaments in football and table tennis in the past. The college also regularly participates in various inter-college tournaments. Annual features of the college include "SANJAY SHARMA MEMORIAL CRICKET TOURNAMENT" and the college annual sports meet.

Freshers' Day

The first social event of the year is the freshers' day. For those new entrants who come apprehensive and unsure of what the future holds, fearful of an independent life away from home, this function is to ensure them that they are in fact in a home away from their home. It is also looked upon as an opportunity of discovering the talents in the new entrants. The new students presents variety entertainment programs and earns prizes for best performances.

Annual Day

Annual day is the final function of the academic year and is organised by the cultural society of the institute. It is usually filled with variety of entertainment programs and presentation ceremonies and is presided over by eminent personalities.
